Planting Korean red leaf lettuce seeds (Korean red leaf lettuce how to grow?) – Leaf lettuce garden
How to grow Korean red leaf lettuce in the ground cultivation. It’s been about 20 days since preparing the soil for Korean red leaf lettuce. This time, I will sow Korean leaf lettuce seeds. (Planting Korean red leaf lettuce seeds.)
If you grow Korean red leaf lettuce in spring, mid-April is a good time to sow the seeds. Korean red leaf lettuce can be grown almost all year except in winter, but the best time to grow leaf lettuce is in spring. It is good to sow Korean leaf lettuce seeds in spring and harvest them in summer.
We prepared to grow Korean leaf lettuce, sweet peppers, and white eggplants in late March. We prepared the soil, added fertilizer, and made the bed.
Korean red leaf lettuce is grown in the middle of the bed, so make 3 holes there. (We use a mulch cutter to make holes.)
Sow 4 Korean leaf lettuce seeds in each hole. Plant seeds at a depth of about 7~8mm (0.3 inches) by pressing them in with your finger.
Lightly cover the seeds with soil, press down with your hand, and then put on a non-woven fabric (to protect the seeds). Fix the non-woven fabric with garden pins.
Korean red leaf lettuce seed is “light-favoured seed (photoblastic seed)", so cover the seeds lightly with soil. Use non-woven fabric to protect the seeds before they sprout.
By placing a non-woven fabric, you can prevent the seeds from drying out, and it also shields them from direct contact with watering or rainwater, protecting the seeds.
After covering with non-woven fabric, water the soil to the point of moisture. (Be careful not to overwater, as it can cause the seeds to rot.) With this, the Korean red leaf lettuce seeding is complete.
