How to grow sugar snap peas in rental patch. Snap peas are grown by planting seeds directly in the field. Sugar snap peas are easy to grow, so they are good for beginners.
This is the first time growing sugar snap peas, so it’s soil preparation. Till the soil and make bed. The bed size for growing snap pea is about 60cm x 60cm (2 feet x 2 feet).

Snap peas don’t usually need starter fertilizer. Starter fertilizer is the fertilizer added before sowing seeds or planting.
No fertilizer is needed, so you don’t have to measure it or mix it with the soil. Just till the soil well and get ready to grow snap peas.
How to make the bed for sugar snap peas
After tilling the soil, the next step is to create the bed for sugar snap peas. Shape the bed with a trowel and wooden boards.
As a tip for making the snap pea bed, use a trowel to press the edges of the bed and make it slightly compacted. If you press the edges of the bed, you can maintain the shape of the bed.
Make the top of the bed flat. If the surface is bumpy, water can collect in the low spots and cause diseases. (Stems and leaves touching the water can easily get damaged.) Bumps also make planting seedlings or sowing seeds harder, so try to keep it as flat as possible.
Afterward, cover the snap pea bed with black polythene mulch, and secure the mulch with mulch pins. Mulching is a traditional method for making the growing sugar snap pea healthy. Mulch will keep the soil moist and the plants clean. Your sugar snap pea bed is complete.
