Prep soil for burdock root (Grow arctium burdock gobo root) – Greater burdock cultivation
Grow burdock root (arctium burdock) in home garden. This time, I will prepare the soil and make the bed for growing burdock gobo (greater burdock). The bed size for growing burdock gobo root is about 60cm x 70cm (23.6 inches x 27.5 inches).
The burdock gobo root (arctium burdock) I’m going to grow has short roots, so I think it’s easier to grow in a home garden.
Starter fertilizer for burdock gobo root (Best organic fertilizer for greater burdock root)
For growing burdock gobo root, the needed fertilizer (starter fertilizer) is 1 liter (1 qt) of cow manure, 50g (1.8 oz) of chicken manure, and 50g (1.8 oz) of canola cake. (Best starter fertilizer for arctium burdock.)
The fertilizer prepared for the burdock gobo root is mixed in a bucket first, then spread over the plot and mixed with the soil.
Prepare the bed for arctium burdock (Burdock root how to grow)
After fertilizing, the next step is to create the bed for greater burdock (arctium burdock). Shape the bed with a trowel and wooden boards.
Afterward, cover the burdock root (arctium lappa burdock) bed with black polythene mulch, and secure the mulch with mulch pins. Mulching is a traditional method for making the growing burdock root (greater burdock) healthy. Mulch will keep the soil moist and the plants clean. Your burdock root (arctium burdock) bed is complete.
When people think about growing burdock root (arctium burdock), they imagine digging the soil deep, which sounds hard, but this year I am growing burdock with short roots, so I dug the soil as deep as for regular vegetables.
For the height of the beds, it might be better to make them a little higher. (Higher beds make it easier to harvest burdock root.)
