When people think about growing burdock root (arctium burdock), they imagine digging the soil deep, which sounds hard, but this year I am growing burdock with short roots, so I dug the soil as deep as for regular vegetables.

For the height of the beds, it might be better to make them a little higher. (Higher beds make it easier to harvest burdock root.)
