Keeping strawberries off the ground (Strawberry bed spring care) – Garden strawberries
How to grow strawberries in chemical free cultivation. This time, I will attend to strawberry plant care. (Maintain strawberry plants.) To keep the strawberries clean, we take measures when the fruits appear.
We use non-woven fabric to protect the strawberries. (Strawberries get damaged easily when they touch the mulch directly.)
To keep strawberries off the ground, you can use straw, but this time we will use non-woven fabric. (Straw can be blown away by the wind, so non-woven fabric is recommended.)
Roll the non-woven fabric and surround the strawberry plants. (Use U-shaped garden pins to fix the non-woven fabric.)
This non-woven fabric not only “keeps strawberries off the ground" but also “protects strawberries from insects." The non-woven fabric is thick, so it also helps to keep the strawberry plants warm.
