Grow bell pepper plant in field cultivation. The bell peppers I started growing in mid-March are now ready to be harvested.
Growing bell peppers (Best way to grow bell peppers) – Bell pepper garden
I prepared the soil for bell peppers in mid-March, and planted the seedlings in late April. I use coco peat and zeolite as soil improvers for bell pepper soil preparation.
Actually, after planting the seedlings, I found out that the bell pepper seedlings were a bit immature this year. After planting, they didn’t grow well and stayed small.
I replanted with another bell pepper seedling, but that one was also an older seedling. So, honestly, this year’s bell peppers didn’t grow well.
Whether it’s bell peppers or eggplants, I really realized that seedlings are important when growing fruit vegetables from seedlings.
About one month after planting bell pepper seedlings, in late May, I did the fertilization. (Side dressing for bell pepper.)
Vegetables like bell pepper and eggplant, grown from seedlings, require additional fertilization (side dressing) approximately one month after planting.
I also added fertilizer for bell peppers in late June and early July. (The fertilizer for side dressing is chicken manure.)
Bell pepper harvest time (Bell pepper picking)
When to harvest the bell peppers? Bell peppers are ready to harvest when they turn red.
How to harvest the bell peppers? Bell peppers are harvested by cutting at the stem with scissors.
I only harvested 2 bell peppers this time, but there are still some that are not ripe. I will harvest those bell peppers another day. (I will pick the green and partially colored ones after they are fully ripe.)
The growing period for bell peppers is the longest among summer vegetables, and if grown well, they can be cultivated until around mid-October. So, I want to take care of them carefully to harvest a little more.
