The third fertilization of aubergine (Aubergine plant care) – Growing aubergine vertically
How to grow aubergine in mulching cultivation. This time, I will attend to aubergine plant care. It’s been about 20 days since the last fertilization of the aubergine. We pruned the branches at the end of June, but since the aubergine hasn’t been growing very big, we’re going to fertilize aubergine.
I think fertilizing aubergines every 3 to 4 weeks is appropriate. Fertilizing too often increases the risk of aubergines being affected by diseases and pests.
The last fertilization for the aubergines was in mid-June. It’s been about 20 days since then. This time marks the third fertilization period.
How to fertilize aubergines (Best way to grow aubergines)
For aubergine, fertilize in 2 spots about 20cm (8 inches) away from the base of the plant. If fertilizer directly touches the roots of aubergines, they may get damaged, so we keep the fertilizing position away from the base of the aubergine plant.
We use chicken manure (organic fertilizer) for aubergine fertilization. Chicken manure contains essential nutrients for aubergine growth in a balanced manner. (Best organic fertilizer for aubergine.) The amount of fertilizer is 30g (1 oz) per spot.
Turn over the mulch, dig a hole about 10cm (4 inches) deep, and apply fertilizing.
After that, water the chicken manure that has been fertilized, cover it with soil, and put back the mulch. With this, the aubergine fertilization work is complete.
