Grow summer vegetables (Summer vegetable plants care) – Eggplant, ginger, and pepper, etc grow tips
How to grow a summer vegetables in home garden. This time, it’s taking care of summer vegetables like eggplants, sweet peppers, and ginger. (Best hot weather garden vegetables.)
First, we check the bed of eggplant, ginger, and green pepper. (Eggplant, ginger, and green pepper plant care.)
The linked article explains planting summer vegetables such as green peppers, eggplants, and tomatoes.
We harvest the eggplant as the ones in the front are ready to eat. (We’ll leave the ones at the back as they are still small.)
The eggplant was transferred from thin stake to thick stakes about two weeks ago.
Ginger has finally sprouted.
The green peppers are hiding under the leaves, but there are plenty of fruits growing.
If you want to grow green peppers well, let’s do some sucker pruning.
After harvesting the green peppers, we’ll also do a little pruning of the densely packed central branches.
We replaced the thin stake 90cm (3 ft) placed next to the sweet pepper with thicker stake 150cm (5 ft).
Please refer to the following article for how to set up stake. (The linked article explains how to set up long stake for tomato, but the method is basically the same.)
Next, we’ll check the bed of edamame and tomato.
The edamame plants have started to bloom.
The edamame was thinned and hilled about 20 days ago.
The tomatoes are getting bigger. We’re looking forward to the tomatoes turning red.
We trimmed the lower leaves of the tomato plant as they were overcrowded. (When tomatoes are humid, the risk of diseases and pests increases.)
For tomato, as well as for green pepper, removing the suckers is the key to successful growth.
Finally, it’s the bed of cucumber, peanuts, and okra.
The cucumber we planted seedling the other day, despite setting up the gardening net, is growing in the opposite direction.
Please refer to the article linked for instructions on how to set up a trellis for cucumbers.
Peanuts and okra are growing well.
Peanuts and okra were sown about 2 weeks ago.
This time, we harvested one eggplant and seven green peppers.
Following is the video for how-to. English subtitles are available.
