How to prune suckers of green pepper (Removing side shoots of sweet pepper plant.)
Green pepper grows by extending two branches that split from the 1st pepper fruit.
In the early stages of growth, green peppers are encouraged to allocate nutrients towards plant development, so any current fruits are removed. This is because if fruits grow too early, they consume all the nutrients, preventing the green pepper plant from growing larger.
We also remove all suckers (side shoots) below the first fork in the sweet pepper plant. (This is because suckers tend to absorb all the nutrients.)
You pinch and snap off the suckers of green pepper with your fingers. (When you pinch the base of the side shoots of green pepper, they come off easily.)
This completes the pruning of the side shoots of green pepper. (Pepper plant care is complete.)
